I'm in the process of attaching end plates on the modules. Have been working on them since Sunday night off and on. Last night I decided not to work on my layout and clean up the hobby room instead. The workbench is now organized, something that really needed it. The photos show all of the tools that I am using to build the layout.

A clean workbench is the sign of a sick mind.........

    Looking good Joe!

    Joe, it's all looking great.

Fun to see the "porkchop." Have neither heard of nor seen one before, but I wonder now if my grandfather would have had them in his assortment of aircraft repair/building tools. Wished I'd spent a few more days hanging out with him in the hanger, but I was in my late tens/early 20s so my decision-making wasn't great.

I've cleaned my workbench...but only so that I can move it to a different/better location in the layout room and workshop. That's the only reason it's clean. :)

Tonight's work on my layout consists of attaching end plates, for some reason it is taking a lot longer to do these than I remember. So far I've only been able to finish three module joints. The photo below is the end plate for module 05 North.

This afternoon I did one more set of end plates, that brings the total to four module joints. There are six left, hopefully I can do two or three later tonight. If that happens I could finish tomorrow night. I used five #6 countersunk wood Phillips head screws to attach an end plate and two 1/4in. x 2 1/2in. hex head bolts with two fender washers and a nut on each to assemble two modules together.

I got two more modules end plates finished and dug out my box of buildings, which hadn't been opened for about a year. Some of the buildings are wired for lights and will be connecting to a timer. The timer was scratchbuilt with a 1 RPM motor and is geared to run about 20 minutes before repeating itself. Below are some photos of my buildings, their not in any order, just placed on two modules.

I got all but one module, 08, cut for the end plates this afternoon. Will attach them tonight and then I'll tackle module 08 tomorrow morning. That will finish up the end plates project. Everyone say YEAH!!!

Thank you Jim! I'm getting excited, it's not too long to running trains, I would guess that it would be about a week or less. Some of the tracks have been drawn and ready for mountains to be cut. This will help finalize module 08's configuration. Module 08 is the most challenging module of all the others put together. Will start working on the end plates, for all but 08, in about a hour and will work on module 08 tomorrow morning.

Quick update, after two days of company and a couple of days taking a break I worked on my layout last night.

I have all of the end plates done except two, one on module 08 and one on module 01. Module 08 is about half way done.

Last night I started drawing tracks on modules 05 north, 06, 07 and 08. Also bolted together the modules above, hopefully for the final time. Would like to attach roadbed later this morning and then draw tracks on modules 01, 02, 03, 04 and 05 south and install more roadbed. Will try to lay track tonight on seven modules concreting on the main line and passing tracks.

Had to cut module 06 about a half inch shorter because of the thickness of the end plates.

    Thank you Dale.
Hopefully I can run trains by the middle of the week Dale. I'm installing roadbed at this time on modules 04, 06 and 07, just taking a break to write this post.

Last night I installed roadbed on module 05 and 06, didn't get to module 07. I did get the first section of track installed, since 2014 when module 05 was built, on module 06.

This afternoon I installed another section of track and some more roadbed. The passing track will extend from module 05 North to module 08 South with a siding on the West side of the main, towards the wall. My goal is to run a train tomorrow to test what I've done so far. Will try to post a video.

Early this morning I cut out a couple of radius templates to help draw tracks on the rest of the layout. I have a yardstick with holes drilled where the drawing calls for the radius to be, all mainline radius is a minimum of 19 inch. The templates were cut from a brown paper bag.

Just finished installing mainline roadbed on modules 02, 03 and 04. The other lines are for a passing track and three tracks for the yard. I will use Code 80 Peco track and turnouts on the main and passing tracks, Code 80 Atlas turnouts on the yard.
