Is any one making a layout of Barton county? It would interesting because say if you were modeling the 50's at Lamar you would have Frisco MoPac interchange and in Liberal you would have Frisco MKT interchange. I you are making a layout now or have had one, could you please post pics of it.

    Thanks

If you look at a map you will see what you are calling the Frisco / MKT crossing at Liberal Mo is really a Frisco / MOP crossing. The line you are talking about is the Nevada, Mo to Pittsburg, KS route. The line continues southwest and goes through Carona Kansas. This is the route the 1904 MOP train took on it's way to the world's fair in St. Louis and was wrecked close to Warrensburg, MO. The MKT went almost due west out of Nevada, through Deerfield, Mo, Eve, Mo and into Fort Scott KS before angling down to Parsons, KS. Conuently, the Frisco / MKT crossing was toward the north end of the Frisco yard in Fort Scott.

I agree that Barton County Mo could make an interesting layout and it isn't because I live in Lamar.
