    And how does the conversation go to change volumes on different functions, select different whistles, bells or chuffs? How does it handle motor control to make the engine crawl? How about reverb on the sounds? I’ve looked for answers on the TCS website and found not much understandable. I asked TCS for on line sound samples and they said maybe at some point, but not now.

    This decoder appears to require a scientific degree to program beyond basics. Like QSI, anyone remember them? I don’t know if it’s worth the money buying this engine when the decoder is a pig in a poke.

    Too bad they couldn’t do it themselves. The whistles are really good ones though...... if anyone can tell you how to change them.

    What’s that audible buzzing sound? Reminds me of the Soundtraxx’s headlight generator sound effect.

    On SoundTraxx, that "generator sound effect" is the actual digital recording of the sound the dynamo (generator) makes when steam is passing through its turbine to produce electricity.
    All of SoundTraxx' sounds are digital recordings of the real thing.


    Re: Volume control on the TCS WOW sound. If you saw how many individual volumes that are adjustable (visual indication on Decoder Pro) it would make you head spin faster that that dynamo. The CV to control "Global Volume" on the TCS WOW is CVT2CV.4.10 Without reading the manual, no one would have any idea of how to set that CV.
