Atlas USRA Double Sheathed QA&P Boxcar

We have waited a long time for a commercial manufacturer to release a N Scale model bearing the Quanah, Acme & Pacific road name. To our knowledge, there has never been a model released in this Frisco subsidiary road name.

The battle has been won by the Atlas Model Railroad Company.

Atlas’ promotional language: The original USRA (United States Railway Administration) design boxcars date from World War I when car designs began to be standardized. The double sheathed version was the first widely accepted 40-foot steel underframe boxcars placed in service. Some 24,500 cars were delivered to 24 different railroads throughout the country.

    • 5-5-5 or 7-8 steel ends
    • Fishbelly or standard center sill
    • Vertical or end mounted brakes
    • Steel or wood doors

    Item/road numbers: 50 003 191/531, and 50 003 192/535.

The MSRP is $23.95 and these are projected to be available early in 2017.
