ALL MEMBERS - General statement about software upgrades/changes

Folks,

If the forum is down today for a brief time, I have a ticket in with vBulletin support. There is one problem from the upgrade that I cannot seem to fix and it's nothing major that you would notice. They will probably fix it for us and they will be taking a look later so if the site is off for a bit, that is what is going on.

I've just updated Tapatalk to the latest version. I see quite a few folks are using it so Tapatalk users, please advise of any problems.

Blogging explained here. My nFrisco site (click) is an example of a blog. I get to update it tonight too! Someone else here that has a blog post your site for an example please.

Tapatalk is an app for smartphones and tablets. When you see the Tapatalk signature on my posts, I am using my smartphone to access the site. It puts the signature line on automatically. I'll give a dissertation on smartphones sometime. They are the greatest thing since sliced bread. We had to take a trip to Bangor today and I was able to access the site from everywhere we went so it's all good.

All my Internet access is with my iPhone. My throttle for my DCC Zalma branch is my iPhone (even two locos independently on split screen). My banking, bill paying and camera as well plus much much more. Smartphones are indeed the best thing since sliced bread and code 83 flex track.

Thanks for the words Mike. We are trying to give people what they want and get the technical side where it needs to be too. It's a tightrope but we are slowly making progress. Great things never happen all at once (but some bad ones have).

Folks,

In the last 24 hours 77 members visited the forums. 7 of those "members" were spammers that were quickly flushed before you saw their garbage due to the constant vigilance of Keith, Chris, and I throttled a couple of them too. But, 70 bona fide members visited this forum on a Thursday. That's pretty good stuff! Look around at other fallen flag websites and see who else is doing that. (Cue the chirping crickets.)

I am not taking any of that credit, The credit goes to you folks; Frisco folks.

That's why we are working to improve the site. We appreciate your patience, your participation, and your friendship. We are going forward, not backward and we hope you will stay on board.

A few weeks ago, Mike commented that we might have to merge with another forum or group. That was a real concern. He was not joking, just being honest. When you think that you don't like some small nuance about the site, think of how you would like it if we were merged with another site and a lot changed.

The good news is this: We are not merging with anyone. This will be the Frisco website and that will not change. Yes, there are changes but not the kind of changes that you won't like in the long run.

Amen! We saw a Frisco merger happen over 30 years ago, and we all remember how that turned out. Never again! hah

I just ran another software upgrade and you will see a division by zero error on the portal page. I am working on this and it will be fixed within a few hours.
