Never too soon to get something on your calendars. The tenth annual Great Northwest Arkansas Train Show will be February 23, 2013. For the second year it will be at the Holiday Inn convention center in Springdale. First solicitation to vendors has gone out. We have ended up with a waiting list for tables the past few years, so if you know a vendor who isn't on our list but would be a good addition (Frisco stuff) they should check out www.railroadclubsugarcreek.org for info. Let's try harder this time to have a Frisco lunch session. There is an effort to work out a special trip or tour or something with the A&M. Also some layout tours or even an ops session for those who know the secret handshake.
Soooooooooooooo...............how does one learn the secret handshake? I'm all for ops sessions, esp. if Frisco is involved.
FriscoBob, management will likely accept dedicated following of this site as a handshake substitute. But I'd like you come over before that if you can and talk traffic on the Arthur Sub, etc. I'm trying to work some of that into my scheme. FriendBob, hope it wasn't the wierd text and that you have been/will be able to make it work. Our club messages come in that text but I should have changed it. (I changed the font in the hyperlink - klrwhizkid) Show is in February but we already have 59 tables spoken for.
Next Saturday is the show. The space plan is almost done. About 175 tables for vendors and several layouts. May not have room for the club's N scale layout which I usually spend a lot of time at, but ask for me. I'd like to visit with all the Friscophiles. There will be some food available, but going to lunch with some of the folks sounds good. Anybody coming Friday?
Can't be there friday. I'm hoping that John Reed will be there again so I can buy some more goodies and get a signed copy of Nothing Finer Than A Frisco Diner. Well to those who are attending, See ya Saturday.
The show will go on! Local roads are clear. We have heard from one vendor who didn't want to try hauling a trailer through KC area, one layout group decided not to come. But we had some standbys so the room will be full. Hope to see some of y'all.
