I live near Frisco, Texas where the city has a wooden caboose that looks like it will fall apart if touched and a Consolidation that is undergoing some degree of restoration. I have photos of the loco that I will post later. It is numbered 19. I know nothing more about the loco than that. It does look pretty nice though. It looks almost like they are getting it ready for running. I could be very wrong since I really know nothing about loco restoration. Anyway if anyone knows something more about this loco please let me know and check back in the next couple of days for the photos.

  2. There's a photo recently posted to RailPictures.net:

A commenter seems to think it's ex-Grand Canyon Rwy, ex-LS&I #19. The "Unofficial Home Page for the Lake Superior & Ishpeming RR" (http://www.i2k.com/~dpierce/LSI/) confirms this. It's certainly not a spot-series 2-10-2, which is what its number would imply in the historical Frisco steam roster!

I was under the impression that the GC's former LS&I consolidations were in working order within the last few years. There's an e'mail address supplied on the unofficial LS&I webpage for a fellow who's apparently connected with the Frisco Heritage group that purchased the engine from the GCRy if anyone wants to pursue it further.
