Here we go! Tonight I finished the track laying on my first N scale layout. It's just a 36"x 84" loop that represents late 70s Cape Girardeau riverfront (highly compressed if course) on one side and the other side will be the modern day Union Pacific as it passes my house at Wolf Lake,IL which has some BNSFF traffic as well. No switches because this is strictly a train watching layout to help me get my diesel fix.
I used 2" foam insulation board as a base and used cork roadbed and Atlas code 55 flex. I soldered the joints and feeder wires.

Great looking SD. Did you get that on ebay a short time ago?

Yes and I love it! It runs very smoothly and coasts to a stop like it has a flywheel in it. It has some nice details added already but I bought a brass Leslie 5 chime but haven't added it. Your videos help persuade me to try this diesel thing. So far it's been very fun.

Thanks to you, Charlie. I might even order another one before they're all gone. N scale has come a long way.
