    4-8-2 SLSF 1500

4-8-4 SLSF 1500 with train No 807, the Sunnyland, near St. Louis, MO.

There is no date with this image.

Photographer may have initials LS or FFA, as that is marked on the envelope the negative came in without explanation.

Edit 3/16/2024: Train is westbound just west of Southeastern Junction, MP 7.3. Note standing above the train the train order signal.

Added additional photograph narratives and mile post.

Here is an unadorned version of the 4-8-2 SLSF 1500 from back when she was nearly new.

    Very plain without her plumage!

I am assuming this is a company shot.

Looks as if he is giving the number plate a bit of a touch-up.

Note the can with paint brushes which is sitting on the pilot beam.
