You've mentioned your brother-in-law fired on the Salem Branch and was making the run when the first diesels were used. My grandpa said the first diesel broke a bunch of rails on its first trip, probably a GP7. I believe you said that No. 61 or 62 was used after that. Please tell me what type that second diesel was (VO-660?).

      Thanks,
      Pat

      Hello Mr. Wirth,
I see you are in the Pacific area, I am in Washington and was wondering if there was any chance since we are not that far apart if we could meet sometime. Steam has interested me on and off for a while and seeing that you was very involved with an operating steam era locomotive, would help me understand a bit more about the operations of an engine that size. Please let me know, Thanks.

Don, are you guys over in Pacific doing okay? Hopefully not treading water - looked like quite a bit of water in Pacific from the photos I saw.

      Best Regards,

We're fine. We are about 50-100' above the river, high and dry.

Mr. Wirth, if you have a chance, I am a huge fan of Frisco 1522 and I would love to ask you some questions about your experiences working with the locomotive and the SLSTA. Please, if you find the time, send me a message or E-mail me at frisco.hamster@yahoo.com

Don, your first of about five mouse pads are posted. I'll be working on the others tomorrow. The first edition is entitled "Black Gold". I hope you like it. A small tribute to your wonderful modeling skills.

I sold the locomotive this morning. I'm sorry. I just want to concentrate on Brass. Post up on HO Interchange. You should sell it like that. My 2-8-0 wasn't up for more than 2 minutes and it was sold. I have a 63" 4-6-0 going up too. It hasn't posted yet, but I expect it to do the same. Sorry. I really need the money. No offense meant.

Any pics? Actually, please let me think on it. I'm going all brass. That's why I put the 2-8-0 up to begin with.

      RE: Frisco First Employee Magazine
We, The Railroad Historical Museum, Inc. are attempting to compile a list of what has been digitized and what has not. Any and all help is requested.
Note many issues from Dec 1902 until Sept 1935 have been digitized and made available online through the local library.
Our first goal it to get any missing copies (in this time frame) online.
Next, our museum has a number of donated issues of random dates. We plan to inventory these and hopefully get them on line.
This is an expensive process and almost a catch 22 situation.
Any help financial and/or information wise will be appreciated.
Feel free to repost this in the appropriate locations.

I just now read this Mike, so you can see how often I check messages. There used to be a popup box telling me I had a private message, but didn't see it this time. I don't have a copy of the moderator notes and if Karl wants to stay aboard, that's OK too. I just noticed some extra options the other day that weren't there before, so you must have flipped the switch.

      Hi Don,

I can take care of that with a flip of the switch. I have been a bit remiss and haven't organized the moderators, but hope to soon. Do you have a copy of the note I sent about moderator duties?

As for the steam locomotive moderator, Karl is in the position now, but said he would rather have you as the moderator.

      Best regards,
      mike
