Ok, I know that they're hideously ugly, but they're intriguing. Has anyone ever seen one of the Frisco's 2-8-8-2 Mallets modeled? I think I'm probably out of my mind here, but it would be neat to have one. I'd also be curious to know for what purpose they were used and until what date.

Someone with more prototype-specific knowledge can probably fill in the blanks better, but in short what I know is: early operations limited to Springfield-to-Thayer operations, late-in-life use was in the Alabama coalfields to-and-from Birmingham I say give 'er a go and let us see pictures when you do!
