I was just coming to post about these. BLI is on a roll, with the switchers being anounced a week or two ago. I missed the AB set… fortunately, the paint scheme they chose for the B units is easy to renumber if yiu want more B units. For the A units, these are chicken wire F3s, and I believe there were only two of those.
Since Broadway Limited announced their Stealth series, they are now listing N-scale F3s as part of that line. looks like they are only doing the single A and the Single B, so no AB set… https://www.broadway-limited.com/9056emdf3aslsf5001blackandyellowno-sounddcc-readyn.aspx https://www.broadway-limited.com/9057emdf3bslsf5101blackandyellowno-sounddcc-readyn.aspx
For anyone that buys one of the BLI Stealth Series locomotives and wants sound, I can get you extremely good pricing on SoundTraxx HO 21 pin or N Next18 decoders. Just contact me via Conversation.
Has BLI said they are using Next18 for the n-scale engines? I’ve seen they posted the motherboard layout for HO with the 21 pin, but I haven’t seen anything about the n-scale version.
The Factory Direct Trains website announcing BLI Stealth locomotives states they support Next18 decoders. https://factorydirecthobbies.com/co...MhCWQBSUjodD5Fz8-stjLfvISQGZQq7_OieJYw.V5tHXr
I got my F3s with BLI decoders last week… I still haven’t run them yet, but they look nice. I do have a stealth Bunit coming next week. now I just need to figure out which of the B units that ended up with 3 digit numbers were still in black and yellow paint. I know 161 ones, and it lasted into the early 1970s…. all of my units will get updated lettering, since BLI used the as delivered scheme and I model a later time period…. Not all of them will receive 3 digit numbers, but I would like to have 2 of them that way ( when my stealth unit arrives, I will have a total of 4 B units… )
