GE 70 ton # 12

  1. Small and odd project for your viewing pleasure. Basically out of the box for this short lived FRISCO engine.
    Enjoy, Steve

Very nice, Steve. I like the 713 as well. I could make that little 70 tonner sing for you...

  6. Thank you guys. I appreciate the compliments. Glad you checked it out and like it. That pic of #12 is great. I have only seen a couple of it.
Sounds good to me Keith, I actually have not put power to it, don't even know if it runs! That 713 is almost done, I will post some pics of it and a couple other projects soon.

Was the prototype the Okmulgee Northern cast off, or NEO? Either way, it is one I've always wanted to see in model form. The weathering along the side is pretty spectacular-might this be another "Yes, It's a Model" feature for MRH?

    Best Regards,

I have the Bachmann 70-ton model if any one wants it. See my posting in the Swap Meet category.

  9. Thanks Chris. Glad you approve. Cross your coonskins it shows up in MRH but I am not sure. They might let me know. Its submitted at least for what that's worth. I try to get some FRISCO exposure there.

Ken, your listing kind of reminded me that I had this 95% done already. So you got me motivated to wrap it up. Thanks. I figured yours sold already. I like the look of those little 70 tonners myself. My favorite small diesel. I have another (non frisco) I finished at the same time.

Nobody seems to want the Bachmann 70-tonner I have. I think I'll build it as SLSF 12 and then dangle it out on eBay. I have everything I need here thankfully.
    Keeps me in the hobby!

Any chance you have pictures saved elsewhere, or info on the paint and decal sets you used?

I just picked up a gen 1 Spectrum 70 tonner, undecorated, after seeing an HO #12 pass through eBay within the past year. I figure I can start collecting info until I can get spray gun and paint booth access.

I figure it'd be a delightful little industry switcher on my club's new layout until we can design and paint club power and rolling stock. Plus I found the DCC/Sound conversion guide for the gen 1, so I'm hoping to have a nice little runner when it's done.
