    E7A (EA7) SLSF 2002, GP7 SLSF ???, E8A SLSF ???? at Van Buren, AR - 1963

In the Frisco Archives at this link.

    http://frisco.org/mainline/wp-conte...ust-19-1963-on-a-troop-train-Mike-Condren.jpg

There is a superb picture by Mike Condren of E7A (EA7) SLSF 2002 headed north out of Van Buren, Arkansas with three units and a passenger train that stretches out of sight.

I do wonder what the occasion was, for that is VERY unusual for that train given the era.

    Anyone know?

    A "Directors Special"?

Some type of Fort Chaffee troop movement?

    Something else?

I would tend to agree with the caption that it is a troop train.

Way more motive power than I would expect for a director's special, no head-end cars like Baggage or Railway Post Office (RPO). If not for the white flags on SLSF 2002, the apparently mid-day sun angle would rule out No 709/710 based on their 1961 ETT schedule for Van Buren, AR.

I need to look and see if we have any synopsis lying around of her on No 709/710. It would be nice to have a summarized history of this train.

Also would be interested in knowing more about troop train movements in/out of Ft. Chaffee.

    Best Regards,

    Well, Chris,

Not only am I a bit on the retarded side, but apparently my reading comprehension skills are not the best, either.

Read right past that "troop train" thing in the caption.

That non-mystery of mine is solved!

    Love the picture.

  5. E7A (EA7) SLSF 2002 - Paint Scheme Blueprint Diagram

I used to get a painting drawing of blueprint diagram of E7A (EA7) SLSF 2002 on e-Bay.

However, there is no signature of the EMD designer, and the painting drawing is easily written, so the dimensions are not shown.

I think it may be an appendix of a model magazine.

After that, I often see them listed on e-Bay.

I am sorry, but if you know the publisher of this SLSF 2002 blueprint diagram, I would appreciate it if you could let me know.

The size of diagram is about 20" X 10".

    Regards,

    Nobutaka

I believe that was an official Frisco promotional handout.

  7. Hi klrwhizkid

Thank you for letting me know.

I am very grateful to know that it is an official Frisco promotional distribution.

I personally love the red and cat whiskers of FRISCO's E7A (EA7) and E8A.

The designer who considered such a beautiful painting is wonderful.

It became a daily routine to look at the Model of E7A (EA7) and E8A every day.

The sight of drinking Japanese sake, Brandy, every night is the best time of happiness.

    Regards,

    Nobutaka
