Tru-Color Paint has long offered an appropriate freight car color for the Frisco.

In their ever growing line of colors they have been producing a number of air-brush ready paints. In addition to their range of model railroad colors, other paints are specifically formulated for modelers of automobile, radio controlled (RC) cars, military aircraft, military armaments and military naval applications.

Paints include a number of "generic" (signal red, white, roof brown, etc.), color shade variation (examples include light rust, orange rust, dark rust, brown rust, aged rust, etc.) and weathering colors as well. The majority of colors have a gloss finish, but others are formulated with a matt finish.

Paints are available in 1 ounce bottles, 2 ounce bottles and, for some (40 colors and growing), in 4.5 ounce aerosol spray or "rattle" cans. A limited number of colors are available in a thicker "brushable" formulation.

Previously released for Frisco is their TCP-184, Frisco 1944-1960s Freight Car Brown. This is a specifically formulated "common" freight car color appropriate for the railroad's period boxcars, flat cars, stock cars, gondolas and cabooses.

In addition, of particular interest to Frisco modelers are two of their newer colors. These include the following.

    TCP-375, Frisco Blue

    TCP-392, Frisco Meteor Blue

I have not yet seen these colors in person. From what I have been able to locate online, Frisco Blue is a slightly darker or deeper shade most appropriate for our early diesel locomotives. In contrast, Frisco Meteor Blue is a lighter shade appropriate for steam engines and streamlined passenger equipment in those paint schemes that used blue.

As with any paint color, application is the subject of personal preference. Base color choice will vary depending on underlying material or primer color, lighting, age, weathering, etc. However, it is nice to see additional product options specifically designed for Frisco modelers.

Check out and explore the company's web site at the following link https://trucolorpaint.com/.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!

That's quite a list Mark. Thank you for posting! Excellent choices.

Didn't see Flamingo Pink for southern states or a zoo. Haha
