Interchanges in Birmingham

    Does anyone know what interchanges the Frisco made with other companies in the Birmingham area in the 40s and 50s?

    If I had to guess, I assume they would probably have junctions with most of the railroads coming from the east, like the Southern, Seaboard, ACL, and Central of Georgia.

    FMIG Newsletter #26 includes the Frisco portion of the 1940 Official Railway Equipment Register, listing the following interchange roads in Birmingham:

    Atlanta, Birmingham & Coast
    Birmingham Belt
    Birmingham Southern
    Central of Georgia
    Illinois Central
    Louisville & Nashville
    Mobile & Ohio
    Seaboard Air Line
    Southern
    Warrior River Terminal*

    *The interchange location is listed as Ensley, AL just west of East Thomas Yard.
