Received my copies yesterday from Don. Got a good look last night - wonderful, agree with all the above comments. My favorite Frisco pic which I first saw while in high school in one of Beebe's books and has been stuck in my mind ever since is included: "Tidy Little Frisco Mike". A Frisco 4100 was hardly a little engine, but that's OK Lucius!

I have often wondered, what kind of tonnage a 1500 class locomomotive would pull, with cars that had all roller bearings.
Given the same tonnage per car.
If a difference at all. Grandpa told me a steam engine would pull much more over the road than it could start, especially on a grade.

We ran a couple of excursions to Newburg that were quite a bit over her tonnage rating on Rolla and Iron Hills. She got down to about 10 MPH and never missed a beat. She was very sure footed and would work right down to a stall and not slip on dry rail.
Best thing about it was that she announced to the world when she was doing it.

What mail carrier did your book arrive? Still waiting for mine to get here.

Joe - FYI, I received my two books directly from Don. Caroline and I were in St Louis last week and Weds afternoon I drove down to Pacific, MO and had a very nice lunch with Don, and picked up my copy and a copy I have for son Kurt.

    Joe,
Mike shipped everything via USPS Priority Mail padded flat rate envelope. I'm surprised you don't have it yet.
He's out of town this weekend, but I'll get a tracking number if you don't have it by Tuesday.

Got my copy last week. Finally had a chance to open it up and start reading this morning. Couple pages in, and I'm already learning something new. Look forward to getting further into the book.

I received Frisco Steam Salute book this afternoon and it looks fantastic. Thank you Don for all of your hard work putting it together. Will start reading it later this evening, looked through the photos and I'm impressed.

It's a birthday present to myself, ordered back on March 9th.

Good decision. When you buy a birthday present for yourself, you're seldom left with something you didn't want.
