Thanks Steve. I would hesitate to call it mine. Your great work for sure. If only I could get the sound in there somehow, Keith.

Unfortunately, the sound doesn't pick up well with the methods we have at our immediate disposal and most computer speaker systems don't do the sound justice either, however, this link is to the actual digital recording that is embedded in the decoder:

Lots of superb stuff in this thread recently.

As for me: I had a long time model railroad/railroad friend over on Thursday and Friday of this week for an operating session on the my layout. It’s been late spring since any trains have run. Total track cleaning as well as loco wheels was performed.

Operating: We were both like green hand new hires! Lawdy me we made a lot of bonehead moves! We had fun though.

In advance of Jimmy’s visit, I printed out and framed some artwork and hung them on the wall by my work desk that’s out in my layout building beside the Bulletins and Special Instructions. They were duly appreciated!

    Here’s a pic of my mini-art display:

Sharp eyes will note two Frisco scenes along with a KCS scene.

Sort of getting the bug to piddle with my trains again. It would be nice to have some more engines with sound installed.

    All fer now.

    So it’s WW!

Mundane stuff for me. Nothing anywhere near “Wow!” status:

Off and on over the past few days I’ve been tackling my rolling stock fleet. I’m checking gauges, shimming as needed for coupler heights, and adding weight to various cars that were too light as well as adding additional weight to many more. Still ongoing. (Waiting on an order for red and gray Kadee fiber washers.)

    A “glamor” pic:

Oh, and I’ve packed a pair of engines to ship off to The Whiz today for him to work his wonders upon.

I think the train nut fever is being flung on me for a spell.

    All fer now!

    Happy Wednesday All,

Been testing the VO-660 back from Keith and Steve...thought I would share. Tried this video first, using the cell phone camera and will try with the Canon digital camera later this week.

    Hope all are well,

I have been finishing this up the last few days. This is my father n laws Christmas gift for his cabin mantle. The 1:1 truck is part of the railroad in Cass, West Virginia. His cabin is nearby and although he isn’t a rail fan per say he is a frequent visitor there. This is a bash of a couple trucks. 1/25th scale.

  14. Here is a few more including the prototype

Your work is simply amazing! The weathering is subtle and way off the scale. Outstanding.

  16. Thanks Don I appreciate it.

  17. Originally I had decaled the cab but it looked too prefect and not like the hand painted prototype. So I removed them and hand painted closer to what it has.

Bob T - Nice VO-660. Don't see those models often as the SLSF only had two of them as opposed to a boatload (38 I think) of VO-1000's.

Steve - That truck is spectacular!

LOL! There’s that, too! Here’s a pic of the little Christmas display on our hearth I threw together for the season:

    Nice Display!

A friend of mine dropped off a box of Lionel stuff that he got for $25 at a yard sale. I was cleaning it up for him, hoping to use it for a Christmas display before reselling.

Unfortunately, his dad started jumping up and down asking to have for his collection. Oh well, maybe the next one.
