    I have been taking Lionel GP7’s and redecorating them for SL-SF and QA&P. What I lack on these projects are rooftop details such as steam generator stacks, spark arrestors, horn configs, etc. Of all the great GP7 photos available to us, I cannot find any that clearly show the roof. Is there a web page anywhere showing Frisco standards for GP7’s? Or mechanical drawings? Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi Rob,
    These are from our archives. You might check Mike Condren's web site too. I haven't found any roof top images with steam generators.

    Thank you to all responders. Sadly, the photo of wreckage sent by klrwhizkid best shows the placement of steam generator stacks.

    Thanks again for all these resources. Another fact I have learned from these photos is that SL-SF used multiple styles of horns.

    Surely there were dimple marks placed on the cab roofs to drill out and place the horns just like the prototype models we work on! LOL

    Why of course! I never thought of that before! I'll bet good money the basic GP7 models came from EMD with dimple marks for the grabs and horns/etc. I reckon the Frisco just did it their way, hence the multiple horn locations, the L grab on the short nose, and the grab coming out of the rear cab door!

    :LOL::LOL:
