From Richard Crabtree on Frisco Rails Across Missouri: A very sad day on the Frisco; the Steam Era was officially over. The last run of Frisco No. 4018 2-8-2 Mikado, built by LIMA Locomotive Works in 1919 was on Feb. 29th 1952. It ran just 5 miles from Bessemer, Alabama to Birmingham, Alabama. It would be donated to the Fair Park in Birmingham, Alabama in November of 1952. It set there from 1952-2009 when it was moved to Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark. It was repainted and now sits in the open, rusting. From L-R Russ Smith; Engineer, C.H. Stuteville; Conductor, A.M. Ball; Asst to the Frisco President, R.S. Blackburn; Brakeman, Eli Wilson; Fireman.
