    Hello Malcolm:

Regionally the town is "Eureka Springs" with an "s", and has been for as far back as I can determine in my resources.

    House car lettering:

Which is correct for the prototype lettering?

Both. You have now got the pictures above to prove it!

    Color:

From what I can determine in the above faded color faded picture, they were a light yellow.

I do not think those house cars were refrigerator cars per se, nor were they boxcars.

As I recall they had tanks inside for shipping the water and no refrigerator ice bunkers.

The hatches on top were for access to the tank caps.

Again, trusting to memory here and where I have placed my resource information for the above is anyone's guess.

If the decals happen and there are some available for purchase, I would love to have a set or two.

    Thank you Andre.

I just found this road several months ago and I am intrigued by it.

I have already built the caboose and I am working on the A&O 800 GE 70 ton locomotive now.

I will let everyone know about the decals as soon as know.

    Thanks

I make custom decals and I have these in all scales if anyone is interested.

This is one of my favorite non Frisco roads. That is the M&NA, Eureka Springs cars and the Ozarka cars.

I am also working on the Ozarka tank trailer and truck too.

Years ago these were available from Rail Graphics.

The decal sheet would letter the tank cars and the reefer, actually glass lined tanks cars.

The original scheme when the reefers were new from ACF is still available from Clover House dry transfer decals in all scales.

    Timothy,

I would be interested in a decal for one Ozarka Water tank car for N-scale.

How much do you want for the decal?

    Joe

Technically Missouri and Arkansas (M&A), not A&O still seems best to place it here.

M&A 50, a 2-8-2 Mikado type, was a frequent workhorse on the Harrison, 126.33, to Joplin, MP 0.0, portion of the railroad.

Seen here in Seligman MO, MP 61.29.

My brother Marty has been cleaning and scanning negatives/slides from our Grandfather and his brother's collections.

M&A crew arrives in Seligman, north end of yard, to interchange with the Frisco.

You can see a warehouse on the west side of tracks, not a lot of pictures of it around, as well as the stock pens for loading stock cars, on the far side of it.

You would not know it now, but Seligman used to be a hopping place for a small town.

    Craig:

Thank you so much for sharing these photographs.

These pictures likely date toward the last of the operations of the M&A. Possibly the last weeks.

Thanks also to your brother Marty for his part in this, too.

"New" pictures of the North Arkansas, any era, are rare indeed.

Judging from the tired looking state of M&A 50, I would agree with that.

There are spiffier pictures of her around.

  20. Go ahead and post any pictures of railroads in the Ozarks that interchanged with the Frisco.

    Always nice photographs.
