I was informed that Ron passed away yesterday afternoon 3/1/20 in Springfield, MO. Ron had been an active Frisco modeler for many years. He was also an NMRA Master Model Railroader. The NMRA named him a FELLOW two years ago.
Sorry to hear that Doug. Thanks for letting us know. I had corresponded with Ron over the years and met him at Frisco events. Super guy that will be missed.
Holy crap! I work at the hospital but he wasn't on my unit, so HIPPA prevents me from looking him up. The last I knew he had been transferred to Stepdown, was off the vent, and improving. What a shock! Thanks for letting me know.
That's really sad news. Ron was a good guy and an excellent modeler. Sincere sympathy to his family. R.I.P. Ron.
Sounds like a guy I would liked to have met, condolences to his friends, and family. Maybe someone can post a link to his obituary.
Sad news indeed. Link to obituary (says will post soon. info on services): https://www.gormanscharpf.com/obituary/ronald-williams
I didn't want to believe it when it first came across FB. I was hoping to talk with a bit at the upcoming Springfield show. And he had just moved into a new home. Condolences to his family.
Very sad to hear he passed. I remember operating on his layout during the first Frisco convention in Springfield. He was a terrific guy and fantastic modeler, indeed.
