I'm working on the diagonal braces for the main span bridge. Have one done with eight more to go for a total of nine. The 0.125 square styrene is just right, a little bigger than the braces on the bridge but not too much. They are not noticeable from 18 inches away. I cut notches in the styrene in the middle so they will be even on the side. Will post photos of the diagonal braces when I finish, until then here is a photo of the first brace and the top of the main span bridge.

I finished the diagonal braces needed for the main span bridge this afternoon. Now I have all of the items needed to cut the two track bridge to make it a single track bridge. Will make the cuts when the other two bridges find their way to our home in about two weeks. I still need to make some gussets for the middle of each diagonal brace.

Wednesday I bought a 40 pack of 1-1/2 to 3 inches of medium green trees and two 9 pack 3 to 3-1/2 inches of fall color trees. Also got some Dremel high speed cutters, a couple of cutoff disc mandrels and a Stanley staple gun. The staple gun is for hanging up Christmas lights on our front door and patio area which I will do tomorrow afternoon. Cynthia made a new Christmas wreath the other day and it's hanging on the front door, she did a great job on it. I will take another photo of the wreath tomorrow afternoon because the one below is dark.

Tonight I installed the roadbed on module 05 for the approaches to the Arkansas River bridge. It wasn't much but at least I was able to work on the layout for a short amount of time. The other project tonight is making nine gussets for the middle of the diagonal braces.

Hey Joe. Pictures!!!! We like to see pictures! I am very interested in your single tracking of this bridge. I wonder if anyone has modeled a lift bridge around Tulsa.
I live out in the arid west, 8-11" of rain a year, weather we need it or not. A river that hosts such large crossings and barge traffic is a wonderful modeling opportunity.

Here you go Tom and Frisco friends, photos of the roadbed on module 05 that was done last night. Sorry I didn't post them earlier.

Cynthia and I have been busy with Christmas decorations, we finished the tree this afternoon and the only thing left is three or four strands of lights outside. Somehow we lost our dated bulbs in the last move, we had one for every year since 1982 for a total of 36 years. We're very upset about it. There was several other decorations missing too, altogether it is a huge loss.

That's cool Joe. Single tracking a section of RR certainly makes for interesting operation opportunities. A lot of my MRR buddies just don't seem to understand that there can a lot of sitting and waiting on other trains in RRing. I wish I had a dollar for every minute I have sat in a siding waiting on Amslack to go by, or around me. I have sat in a siding 100 miles away from Amslack, when there were sidings available every ten minutes. Just poor dispatching. Anyway, great modeling Joe. Looking FWD to more pics.

Thank you Tom, I'm looking forward to the bridge project. Cutting up the main span bridge is going to be a little challenging but think it will be okay. There is a plan.

    Your support is greatly appreciated!!!

Tonight I cut out and installed the gussets for the diagonal braces needed for the main span bridge. Only took about a half hour to do but three days to get to it. Ha

I started to work on the Ft. Smith Depot again to help my mind on something besides medical stuff. Have the base and walls cut out and now I'm laying out the doors and windows. Finally get the chance to use the nibbler that I bought several years ago. Will post a photo later.

I'm going to take the Ft Smith Depot project with me to the hospital so it will help pass the time. Came home to feed the dogs, myself and do a couple of chores.

I went to Hobby Town this afternoon and bought a N scale Kato steel truss bridge that is 10 inches long and I have the third bridge on order from eBay. Once I get all three together will cut the main span in half and the bridge I bought today cut off around 3 inches to blend in with the lift towers. Looks like a busy time coming up soon, I'm getting excited about the bridge project.

Joe, I am going to have to come over and see the bridge when you get a little further on. After more than ten years, my trains are still getting into Ft. Smith via an aluminum tee. I look at it once in a while, but have never built up the energy to tackle that project.

I'm working on one of three bridges needed for the Arkansas River Bridge project tonight. It is a Walther's arched truss bridge kit and the only one that will not have to be modified. Photos coming soon.

I'm about halfway done with the Walther's arched truss bridge, the only thing that I have to do is install the cross braces. Hope to finish Saturday evening after working on our Honda Pilot. The alternator has decided to kick the bucket. I was going to Walgreens Friday evening to pick up a prescription and two blocks from our apartment the truck shut down and I had to call roadside assistance to tow it home.

Here are some photos of earlier assembly of the bridge.

Looking Great, Joe! Sometime I will tell you a similar story about a failing alternator, but this one is on I-70 in the middle of the night in eastern Colorado.
