I have a Bachmann light USRA Mountain lettered for Frisco, no. 4400-something. Is it anywhere near prototypical? It has a nice coonskin number plate under the headlight.
4424? I believe the 4400-series mountains were rebuilts from 2-10-2 locos. The Frisco did not have any USRA mountain locos. I think they were bigger than the USRA lights. Someone on the Facebook page used a Bachmann light mountain as a stand-in for 1522: I would change the trailing truck and put air tanks on the boiler and call it good. I got beat out on a couple of eBay auctions recently for one of these, but I'm on the prowl...
My Bachmann Frisco light Mountain is non operational, the motor runs but the wheels don’t move I am told by a decoder tech. I think there’s a non sound DCC decoder in it but not sure. All I know for certain is that is does not run. I don’t want it. If someone is interested in it make me an offer off line, enough to include $10-15 shipping.
Patrick: If the motor turns but rotation isn't transferred to the wheels, it pretty much has to be in the drive train. Likely a split gear on the drive axle or something of that nature. It is fixable IF parts can be had. Andre
I’m going on what guys told me. I have never tried it. However, it comes with a GUARANTEE! GUARANTEED NOT TO RUN! HAWHAWHAW!!! PF
