Hey Jim. I have been in a slump with doing anything to the model RR for well over a year now. I got a 4x4 pink foam chunk full of trees built up, but no motivation to put them anywhere. I still have a few of my most special trees, the ones you made me some years ago now, still to place as well. I just dont have any scenes worthy of such trees yet. But I may have a plan, gotta get out to the train barn and see what I can come up with. Bake yourself up some cinnamon sugar pecans and all will be right as rain.
Slump? Yep... but not without it's rationale. My dual sport motorcycling season has FINALLY arrived. So, I'm riding bikes 2-4 days a week, and often working out in the garage on a bike, and such as that. Trains typically are used when it's too cold/too hot to ride. This makes June into September my best "train months", with some "too cold" days thrown in during winter. From one of my rides last week... Andre
Originally I wasn't going to paint the benches. I planned on putting "curtains" on them to hide the legs, but... seeing how often I have to dislodge tiny arachnid paratroopers or at least remove their rappelling lines, I decided to give them less of a secluded space to hang out and decided to paint the benches and skip the skirts. This might reduce growing and shrinking of the benches with humidity. Though I'm not sure how much of it I would have anyway.
Craig: So you painted your Frisco layout's benchwork... .... JENKS BLUE??? Agghhhh!! No Black n' Yellow???? Andre
Feeling good. Have worked on and steadily lost 23+ lbs after getting off the post surgery steroids. Goal is to lose 50 before I go back to the neurologist in May, just shy of halfway there. I'll reset the goals after that visit. Biggest challenge is to hurdle the holidays. Having to draw on that Navy instilled determination, without using their standard meal offerings... Lol. I was once told our Navy meal offerings on the Submarine Tender were based on the caloric dietary needs of 20 something year old men with high levels of physical activity. Can't eat like that now. Lol. And steps. Minimum of 10K, averaging 12-15K, with occasional pushes to 20K. Last Monday was was a 20K day. Steve, 10K is a piece of cake in your line of work.
Great to hear Craig!! Keep it up, I hope I still recognize you by the time we meet up in St Louis next!
Nice work Steve. Very realistic. Next realistic thing you will probably do is power one of them up so it rotates slowly! K
