Jim, great to see your work back on the rails. Sometimes it takes time and is well worth the wait. Best regards,
I had to go back and watch the video again and watch for the water pump. WOW - It's really there in the layout! Excellent, Jim, just freaking excellent! That broken down barn is a prize winner along with the entire layout! BTW - That photo of the Water PUmp is museum quality too!
Started working on the relocated sawmill scene. Now it’s more geographically correct being just west of Greenbrier. These are test shots with the main elements in place. Many details and general sawmill clutter will be added later. Thanks for checking in to this old rickety thread.
Thanks, guys. Yes, lots of sawdust will be strategically located. I also need to make a sawdust burn pile.
Hey Jim, Would you mind re-posting or posting new photos of the caboose models you have built. I have the AMB 3-window caboose (including one from you), but would like something that would fit a pre-1920 timeframe. Thanks, -Bob T.
JIM - I only have one word to say ... WOW! I have lots of "graded" sawdust and wood shavings = need some? On another note, you need this truck!
Thanks, Sherrel! I’ve got a couple of Jordan Mac Bulldog kits left. Looks like a fun kitbash project.
Here’s my only other caboose besides a three window AMB kit. It’s scratch built from a photo. Not sure of the prototype build date but more than likely pre-1920. It has a Tsunami Soundcar decoder (thanks Keith), working marker lamps and a keep alive in it along with an interior light. Thanks to Tom for the decals.
Wheels clacking over rail joints, caboose whistles, the sounds of the brake chains being set or loosened and maybe some more but I can’t remember just now. I like the lighting control for my marker lamps and an overhead light in the crew compartment. It looks cool sitting on a spur in the dark with just the interior light on.
