Got these in a bartering session, but I don't know who made them. Any help would be appreciated. DSCN3331.JPG

  2. I’m sure Ken will be all over this. My guess is Central Valley because of the four rivets/screws in the plate the bolster would sit on.

    Thanks Steve,
I am hoping so LOL. The bottom image the trucks are sprung and equalized. The top are rigid trucks. Got enough for 4 cars and another damaged truck for parts.
Ken is always my truck guy, RR car truck that is.

    Tom -

Well, all I can do is guess at the moment. I'll have to go downstairs to our storage room to get my "trucks Bible".

The top pair could indeed be Central Valley. It looks delicate enough to be CV. Normally, though, CV trucks were sprung.

The bottom pair is unknown to me. I can't even tell what kind of truck it is, let along the manufacturer. Strange side frames.

Kurt, Jen and the three girls (Addi, Lauren, & Regan) are down here now for some R&R in the sun and some good seafood. But, I'll get the "trucks Bible" and see what I can learn. Richard Hendrickson (still really miss him) and a few others did do several articles on passenger trucks. Another good source would be Pat Wider. Pat and Richard are the two guys who infected me with truck fever!

It's ok to guess, we don't bite any more and I like that.

Neither of these are Central Valley trucks. Both pairs came from (different) brass passenger cars, manufactured by Overland, Hallmark, Lambert or the like.

    Thanks Ken
The ones in the bottom image indeed could be Overland. Makes sense to me as the came with some other Overland detail parts.
The top image still cant figure out. It is a rigid truck.

Looks like Ken McE has pegged the source of the trucks Tom asked about. Thanks Ken!
It's good that Ken recognized them, as all I could find was my freight car truck notebook. Not a single passenger car truck in there - so I am of no help!

I think there were a few passenger car truck articles in the early RP Cyc's that Ed Hawkins and Pat Wider published. They were possibly lightweight passenger car trucks, not the big six-wheel heavyweight trucks.

LOL - I am so stoopid!
I looked at both pictures -- and then wondered why Tom posted the same pic twice!
