Here's the X-rays of my back, it shows two rods and four screws. One view is from the back and other from the side.

    Joe -
Wife Caroline has a similar picture of her back. She had a fusion about 15 years ago - so far so good, though it is sensitive and gives her some pain if she stresses it.

    Hi Dale,

Happy Father's Day. How are you and your family doing?

We are doing okay, enjoying the somewhat pleasant day. It rained out BBQ that we had planned so we cooked steaks in the oven instead. They were very good.

I haven't worked on the layout for some time, been having trouble with my legs. Some days I can barely walk. The Orthopedic surgeon said that it may take a year for the nerves to completely heal from my surgery last September. For the most part they are getting better though.

I have been getting the urge to getting back to work on it so maybe it won't be long.

Thank you for checking up on us.

Cynthia can walk better than I can now since her accident two years ago. She can walk through Walmart with no problems but I usually have to ride one of their motorized carts.

Glad to hear you are getting better. Once you get started, let me know. I have some surplus DCC stuff if you are interested in making the jump.

Yes Dale I'm interested in getting into DCC at some point in time sooner or later. What do you want for it?

I got a burst of energy today so I worked on the layout for a couple of hours.

First I hung up the curtain over closet door.

Second I painted the track on modules 05, 06, 07 and 08 flat black.

Third I glued down some foam on modules 06 and 07.

Fourth I cleaned up the train room a bit.

All in all it was a good day. Now if I can keep up with the burst of energies will make more progress. I've been feeling well here lately, my legs haven't been painful to much.

I think the next project is to wire the tracks so I can do another video. It will open up ten to twelve feet long track.

I finally found some N scale yellow insulated rail joiners at Memory Trains in the Seattle area.

    www.memorytrains.com

Now I can install more track on modules 01, 02, 03 and 04.

Edit: Corrected website for Memory Trains.

Last night I installed a curved turnout and one section of flex track on modules 03 and 04. Will post photos when I get more done. It's nice having yellow insulated rail joiners again, they slide right on not like the clear ones. I threw the clear rail joiners away.

Went to Lowe's the other day and bought a couple of rotary wire brushes, pack of rotary cutoff discs and a couple of mandrels for the Dermel. Now I have all of the tools and materials to install feeder wires. Want to install a couple of flex tracks on modules 02 and 03 and then attach the feeders. Somewhere in there will start ballast on all the track that is installed. Hopefully will take a video of a train soon, now that I know how to do it.

Doesn’t it feel great to have feeder wires in all track sections?!

Yes it will, every piece of track will have feeder wires. I'm using insulated rail joiners on all connections because they are easier to install rather than the regular rail joiners. My fingers are not very strong especially the right hand from surgery in 1996. The joiners will be weathered so it will hide the bulk. Can hardly wait until I get back to work on the layout, maybe later tonight after we go to Walmart. Does Walmart sell fluid that is good for cleaning track? Currently using isopropyl alcohol 70% and a Pink Pearl Eraser. Need to buy a track cleaning car with a phenolic block on the bottom. eBay has them listed for about $30 with Frisco logo.

I had about 20 minutes to work on my layout before dinner. Applied two feet of double track ballast on module 06. Used six medicine dispensers loaded with Woodland Scenics ballast that is a mix of three parts Buff and one part Medium Brown. After dinner will glue it down with a mix of water and Elmer's glue. Then it's off to Lowe's to buy some caulking so I can install more roadbed on modules 02 and 03. It's been a busy day.

How about some photos of what I did earlier. Also one of six medicine dispensers I used.
