A friend emailed with some questions that I couldn't answer. I'm posting it here since the knowledge pool on the site always seems to come through.

Don; am writing a book on the Missouri-Illinois RR for the Missouri Pacific Historical Society. Below is some information on Ste Genevieve and I was surprised that the M-I and Frisco shared the M-I depot in 1930. Any idea when the Frisco depot was built? I did a few google searches and haven’t found much other than photos.

This Mopac write up shows the Frisco sharing the M-I station in 1930.
    Ste. Genevieve, Missouri M.P. 85.0 Population 2,662

Ste. Genevieve is the oldest town west of the Mississippi River being founded in 1735 by French settlers. It was the center of lead mining activity before the construction of the Iron Mountain in 1858. The town had 19 stores, two banks and two hotels. The M-I was the first railroad into Ste. Genevieve with the Frisco arriving around 1904. The M-I had a frame depot which in 1930 was also used by the Frisco. M-I rail customers were a lumber yard (Falk), a bulk oil station (L. J. Donze) and three coal dealers (L. J. Donze, Wehner and Home Ice and Coal Company). The Frisco had a stock pen and served a lime plant (Western Lime Works). Coal for the lime plant moved over the M-I from mines in Illinois.

    Don,
The only thing I could find is in the depot floor plans section of Mike Condren's website...and it ain't much. It says "Joint Station-Owned by Illinois Southern."

I don't know enough about the M and I or the MoP predecessor lines to say for certain whether the IS is to the M and I as the St. Louis Memphis and Southeastern is to the Frisco- River Division.

I'll look through my other notes and see if I can find a build date.
