Is anyone modeling 1:8 scale, 7 1/2” gauge in Frisco?

I was recently at Train Mountain for their Tri-menial meet and was hoping to see some Frisco locos or rolling stock. Other than a couple of gondolas there was no other Frisco equipment.

I began an internet search to see if I could find out if there were any Frisco large scale modelers but haven’t found much.

:D Right here! You can see a few of my projects if you search for posts under my username. I've built everything you see. There are a few others members also, and one or two in even larger scales.

There is some equipment in Frisco livery, you just need to be patient or do your own. This scale is like any other that everyone models the really big roads like UP, SF, CSX, etc...

I prefer quality over quantity. :D;)

    Tom,

A good friend of mine goes out there and is always trying to talk me into going, I will one of these days. There is a fellow that I believe did a 4100 in the St Louis area that runs on the Pacific live steam club trackage. I have also seen youtube footage of another nicely done 4100 somewhere in the California area. Godshaw has a 4500 series started that according to rumor has fell through. Those are the ones I'm aware of.

The 4100 out of St. Louis is owned by Denis Neidrauer: http://neidrauer.com/

He's got a pretty good writeup of the construction process.

I believe there was a Frisco 4-6-2 out in California somewhere as well.

The last I heard of the 4500 from Godshall's was this post (sorry if you can't see it on Facebook): https://www.facebook.com/groups/576704085761989/permalink/1251735204925537/

It was later indicated that the customer had cancelled their order.

St. Louis Live Steamers is a relatively friendly group of people to visit if you're looking into 7.5" gauge. Jim Pekarek down near Marshfield has some 12" gauge -- I believe he used to post on here but I'm not readily finding his profile.
