Hi all, I just happened across this forum doing some research when my interest was spurred after driving along Oklahoma Hwy 2 the other day. Most local to the AR/OK area know that OK Hwy 2 parallels a majority the old abandoned section of the Arthur Sub that ran between Fort Smith, AR and Paris, TX. I have always been extremely interested in the railroad history of my area. Following abandoned road beds and researching history has fascinated me since I was a kid. Following the abandoned lines got me in to collecting glass and porcelain insulators as well. Looking forward to being a part of this forum. I have already learned so much in just a few hours of perusing around.
I'm laughing. That's all good, clean fun. Jason, welcome to the group. Good group of folks here, and if you think you've already absorbed a lot in a couple of hours of browsing, wait a couple of years. As Mark Twain noted in "Life on the Mississippi," you'll need crutches to help lug around the added weight in your brain. Best Regards,
