Has anyone heard from Mike Condren recently? His website (http://www.condrenrails.com/ ) is currently down, and I was just wondering if it is going to come back up at some point soon (as you may know, it has a treasure trove of Frisco photos...) Paul
Paul, his site had seemed to be working fine yesterday when I originally copied/pasted links from his "Derricks" section. I'm hoping that it's a temporary outage. Perhaps others here have been in contact with him and can provide confirmation/clarification. Best Regards,
I don't know about his web site, but I was recently speaking with a mutual friend and learned that Mike's health is not at all good. I believe his son is now the person who responds if you send Mike an email. GS
Greg - Thanks for the update - really sorry to hear that he's not well. If you have any further contact via his son, please pass along our best wishes. While I've only lightly corresponded with Dr. Condren years back, his photos and knowledge sure have helped to fill in the gaps for those of us who only experienced the Frisco firsthand in its twilight. Best Regards,
Greg, Thanks for the update. I too hope Mike gets better. I'm sure the website is the last thing on anyone in the family's mind, but I wonder if Mike, or his family, would be open to letting us pay the hosting bill. I am sure that is the reason the site is currently down. Paul
Our Administrator's should approach this, his website is a valuable asset to Friscrg Prayers to Mr. Condren and family.
Is there any further news about Mike Condren's health? I hope he's feeling better. I met him years ago and bought slides from him. Very nice fellow! Any word on his website? Tom G.
I visited with him on the internet a few years ago. A real nice fellow willing to help as much as he could. Sad to hear this. Perhaps he will get the message about how much we are thinking of him.
Mike Condren, who lives in Tahlequah, OK, was at the October 2017 meeting of the Arkansas-Boston Mountains Chapter in Springdale, AR. He had not attended much recently as he was dealing with a back problem that required surgery.
A friend advises Mike Condren had a problem with Go Daddy the site provider. Go Daddy took the website down, not Mike Condren. Let's hope that Mike finds a new host.
Okay, I made some inquiries regarding Mike and the web site. Here is the response I got: He does supply brief answers to emails occasionally. His wife will answer for him sometimes. The site went down because he cannot maintain it. My suggestion would be that since Mike and his family are going through something of a rough patch just now, leave it alone. GS
I hope Mike eventually is able to get back to being able to maintain his site. In the meantime, I wanted to let everyone know that the site is available on the internet way back machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20170606055709/http://condrenrails.com/railroad-pages.html So the resources ( especially all those pictures ) are not completely lost to us. Paul
Paul ... I cannot get any pictures to load. Example: F - Series Diesel will only load the first photo of #5000. Several other areas would not load any photos? Did it all work for you?
