I was looking at Train Board tonight and found a video on YouTube that shows a 16 minute tour of the Micro Trains factory. It's pretty interesting. They have a lot of hand assembly, a lot more than you would think, which would explain the price of each item.

    Enjoy!!!

There is another video at the end of the MicroTrains factory tour that shows a "T scale" layout, that's 1:450. It's so tiny it makes a person's hands look like a giants.

Looks VERY familiar! Worked in plastic shops for 33 years.

I watched the Micro Trains video again and found a large amount of other videos attached to the end. Please spend some time watching, you will not be disappointed.

Ha! I just watched this again the other day, too. I was trying to figure out why matchbox cars are $0.70 but train cars are $30. Seems like the manufacturers are doing something wrong here, and they could hit $10-15 mark with the same quality if they marketed them more widely. I guess choking hazards kill it though. 30 years ago Bachmann cars were $3 :/ /end of ramble
