Hi all, I have an embroidered patch reading MW--See Think Act Work Safely with the FRISCO logo super-imposed on a section of rail, with the "MW" in the logo. Sound familiar?
I recently retired from the New Castle Industrial Railroad in Western Pa. One of our Newest locomotives was an SW-1500 which believe it or not is the former FRISCO 327!! When we got it the unit was BN Cascade Green unfortunately. FRISCO had a much sharper paint scheme IMHO. It is now red and black with a yellow frame stripe and the number 41, the middle two digits of it's BNSF number. If any one would like to see it go to HawkinsRail.net and look under shortlines for NCIR. We also have a second SW-1500 numbered 46. I was an NCIR utility man/conductor and track inspector. My 30 years of railroading was on Erie Lackawanna, Bessemer & Lake Erie and Conrail, all on track, and Oil Creek & Titusville and New Castle Industrial shortlines, where you do what needs doing. I was also curious if any of you are familiar with the post-World War II film, Frisco First via Safety First? I have a rather poor VHS copy of it but found it very interesting. It sure would be nice to see a Better copy. Well that's probably enough for now. Don

Don, Welcome Aboard. It's always nice to know Frisco equipment is still out and about, and where it's at. I hope you take time to thoroughly explore our forum. We are glad to share with anyone interested.

Welcome aboard Don. I used to travel to New Castle PA often as I purchased steel from Ellwood Quality Steel. Have not been there since Oct 2009. I only remember seeing GPs on the NCIR at that time.

Hi Ted, Thanks for the welcome. The NCIR GP-9's are gone now and they are only using the two SW1500's. Don
