You know, the several recent postings about folks wanting specific decals, or trying to get needed decals made for them by somebody have caused me to think about ..... decals! I have a sizable stash, most of it Frisco, but some other roads as well (MP, MKT, RI, PRR, GM&O for example). They are all here in Naples. As I most likely will no longer be doing much modeling, I certainly don't need them, at least all of them.

Give me some time (still working on taxes!) to pull them out of the box they are in (a huge one named "model railroad stuff", i.e. not models) and work up a list of those I certainly won't need. Many of them are Oddballs, also Microscale, Champ, Herald King and others. I have GP7's, some steam (freight and passenger), most diesels, some stripes and plenty of rolling stock sets, passenger decals, etc.

I'll be willing to sell them at my cost, if we can figure that out, otherwise we'll just guess, plus postage. I'll also note their age - most are still relatively new, but there are some older ones (mostly Walthers).

    Sigh - another project!

OK, time too start posting decals. I haven't had time yet to look through everything, but I have started with the Champ decals, because I have a lot of them and I knew there are steam decals in there. Indeed, I have five Champ steam sets to offer. There are many more Champ sets for rolling stock, both freight and passenger, for diesels, for road name sets, and for detail sets for types of freight cars, so ..... more to come.

First a disclaimer. I have never had a Champ set that didn't go on smoothly, no fracturing. I've been using Champ since 1964. Perfect results. Champ has (had) a slightly thicker film, which is likely the reason they are so hardy. But, you need to use decal setting solution. As I have posted several times, I'm a very good decal applier, thus I enjoy it, and that is because I steadfastly use the MicroScale system I was taught at Walt's Hobby Shop in Cincinnati by MicroScale in a seminar in 1975. So, here's the disclaimer - I'm not going to guarantee any decal I might sell, no matter its age or condition. If I have reason to doubt its integrity, I won't offer it. I'll comment on other decal brands when I offer them, as I do above with Champ, but the disclaimer will be the same.

Now to the Champ steam decals, all Frisco. But, first, another disclaimer(!). There are five steam sets, they were stored in an open top box together. Some time ago, I bumped my hand on something and spilled part of a drink glass. Some of the liquid fell on the box with the steam decals. I got them out and dried them off immediately. The decals were hardly impacted, but the envelopes got wet. I'll comment on each set below.

Prices are $2.50 per set, plus postage - $0.50 for one or two sets, $1.00 for three or four sets, or $1.50 for all five sets.

    (X) = sold

Here are the Champ Frisco HO steam sets:
(X)EH-256, Frisco steam freight, white lettering, for the locomotive and the tender. Decals in perfect condition. Full set.
(X)EH-256, ditto above. But, a tiny amount of water damage (1/4" diameter) impacting the numbers on one of the two sheets. I've included the remains of another set to make up for the damage. Thus, a full set. $2.00 for this set.
(X)EH-263, Frisco steam passenger, bronze gold lettering for locomotive and tender. Decals in perfect condition. Full set. (No Doric stripes)
(X)S-39, Frisco steam passenger Doric stripes, bronze gold for locomotive and tender. Decals in perfect condition. Full set. (No numbers or lettering)
S-37, Frisco steam freight, tender triple F emblem and stripes for tender. Full set. Decals in perfect condition. (No numbers or lettering).

That's all for now - a small start, but at least it is a start. All the rest of my decal sets have no water damage, and have been stored in a cool, dry basement stacked vertically in a close fitting box. The steam ones were as well, but they were out when I klutzed them up.

Please advise via posting or PM if you want any of these. Payment via PayPal (Preferred) using the "friends and family" option, but if you must, a check or a money order will work. Thanks.

    More to follow.

OK. Here are some more decals that are available. All of these are still sealed in their packets, in excellent condition, and were stored properly while I had them. Prices for these Herald King decals are $2.50 per set. Shipping is $0.50 for one or two sets, $1.00 for three or four sets, and $1.50 for five sets. Beyond five, we'll work it out. I have used many Herald King sets, with excellent results, no failures.
These are all Herald King sets. As I noted, each is in its original sealed packet, unopened, excellent condition.

    Ken-
Will any of these do for a air-slide hopper? Like the Tangent car or Walthers 2 bay car?

    Tom -
Well, not really. The covered hopper set would likely work for the FRISCO and the road number, etc, would likely be OK, but the weight data and dimension data would be all wrong and the AIRSLIDE word would be missing.

Did Oddballs do an Airslide decal? If so, I probably have it. I'll look - I was going to post them next, but I need to locate them all.

More decals - here are the Oddballs sets I have that are non-Frisco. Will post SLSF's soon, plus I have a bunch of multi-road Champ sets, some Walthers sets, and some "special" sets.
Oddballs sets, due to their scarcity, are $3.00 each. (Still below cost in most cases). All are in their sealed packets. Shipping as defined above.

(X)187-254 MP 40ft single door box, box car red Buzz saw, Eagles, DF2 all white lettering, etc

187-269 MP 40ft single door box, DeSoto type, BCR Buzz saw, Eagles all lettering white, etc
187-291 RI streamlined passenger names Rock Island, car names all lettering black
187-292 RI heavyweight passenger cars Rock Island, types, AmEx all lettering bronze gold
(X)187-62 RI 2-bay covered hopper, grey Rock Island, no logo all lettering black

    More to follow.

(****) Oddballs messed this set up. Numbers should have been black, not white. Numbers still useful for other locomotives, or later black 4500's. Price reduced to $2.00. Meteor logos nice.

Let me know if there are any questions. Yes, more to follow - many Champ decals, some nice Walthers, and the "specials".

OK guys, thanks much for your "Oddballs interest"!

    BRAD
Brad communicated with me first, so the 201 (both) and the 318 sets are his. So, Brad - that totals 3 x $3.00, or $9.00 plus a buck to mail them, $10 total. If you pay via PayPal, send it via the "friends & family" option (so there is no fee) to: meteor910@mindspring.com

If you don't use PayPal, no problem - send me a check to:
    Ken Wulfert
    7117 Pelican Bay Blvd
    Unit 1505
    Naples, FL 34108-5563

And - thanks for your purchase. Each of you guys will put these to very good use! I'm happy about that.

    TOM
Tom was the next to communicate his interest. Tom - you asked for eleven sets: 52, 172, 233, 234, 235, 236, 371, 373, 457, 699, 726. All of those are available and are yours. A question - the 236 and the 373 both have second sets. Do you want one or both of each?

If you want both second sets, that is a total of 13 sets. Price will then be 13 x $3.00 = $39, less $1.50 for the 726 which I "nibbled" on, a total of $37.50, plus $2 postage in a flat envelope. Thus, the total is $39.50. Payment as described above to Brad will be fine.

If you only want one of either of the two sets with duplicates, the total will thus be either $36.50 or $33.50. Let me know.

And, my friend, thanks to you for the purchase, and again I am delighted these will appear of some your excellent equipment.

    STEVE
Steve was next in line (by only 8 minutes!), asking for L460 (Herald King) plus 52, 137, 245, 247, 699, 773. All of those are available, except for 52 and 699, which Tom requested. Alas, I only have one 699 remaining, so it is taken. However, I do have a second 52, but it is one I opened and also "nibbled on". One of the weight data decals has the CAPY LD LMT LT WT lettering removed. Otherwise, the set is complete. That missing piece should not be a big problem finding a replacement from your decal scrap box. If you want that 52 set, let me know. Cost for this 52 is only $1.50.

So, for Steve, price is 4 x $3 = $12, plus $2 (L460), plus $1.50 (52) plus $2 postage, for a total of $17.50. Should you not want the 52, the total will be only $16. Let me know. Again, payment as per above will be fine.

Thanks again Steve. I'm happy these will find a good use on your excellent roster. As before, say hello from me to your dad.

Let me know if any of you have any questions, or if I screwed anything up.

Caroline and I are off this afternoon for a boat trip out into the Gulf to chase some dolphins. It's gunna be hot - Naples will probably set a new high temp record today, sunny, breaking 91 deg. The dolphins will be cool, the rest of us will be sweating I imagine.

    Ken

ps - This evening, I'll note on the lists above which decal sets have been sold, and if I have time, will probably list a few more.

    Ken--

I am interested in some sets, but I do have questions:
B-460: what era are they good for?
    187-201: Any left?

    Would like:
    EH256
    187-238
    187-129

    gna -

Thanks for your interest! Of the three decal sets you desire, unfortunately EH256 is already sold. However, the EH256 "makeup set" is still available. Check the listings above to see if you would like that set.

And, 187-238 is still available (I won a model award with that "Let it go Frisco" set). Still have those boxcars, Accurail. And, yes, 187-129 is still available, in fact there are two of them still left. That is an early "Ship it" version.

You also asked about 187-201. No, they are all sold. You asked about set B-460. It is a 50ft double door boxcar, SLSF 154300 on the diagram in the set, some of which were painted boxcar red, some of which were painted a light shade of blue. I forget what the blue color was supposed to signify. There also were some blue single door 40ft boxcars that used this same blue decor. Athearn used to offer one, which I got for Christmas one year and was surprised by the color. For a while in the early 1970's, the Frisco became enamored with painting boxcars various colors to designate what their service was.

Let me know what you would like to do.

I'll take 187-238 and both sets of 187-129, then, please. I have Tichy, Accurail, and Walthers/Train Miniature cars to decal. I don't see any PRR in your list, unfortunately. I need some Circle Keystone PRR decals for X-29 boxcars.

EDIT: We just cross-posted. Please add 26140 to my set.
EDIT2: I read your reply too quickly. Yes, the EH256 set will do fine.

  19. Thanks Ken. I will take the cut set. No biggie to me. I also passed on your hello to my dad and he returned the thoughts. So I will send the paypal $$$$. If possible I would like to add the wide vision to if possible.

Also my dad would like the 187-318 and 187-373 if there is a second set of either still left. Just add that to my tab also if so, if not no biggie......
Send a total and I will paypal. Thanks as always.
