Jack Maxwell in Chaffee found a personal timebook from 1955 in an antique store in Cape Girardeau. In it were listed Seniority Lists going back to 1902. Attached are images that Jack took of those lists. \
One thing that is abundantly clear: In those days a railroad was run by PEOPLE! Not a lifeless corporation, but a living, breathing thing, it WAS people!! Tom G.
Fascinating find, Keith. I recognize a lot of surnames on that list, not to mention a conductor or two that I can remember waving to in the caboose, or individuals with whom I attended church. A pretty big blast of nostalgia and sentiment for this early on a Sunday. Best Regards,
