I've been curious about some of the history of the Frisco website and was wondering if you would answer a couple of request, Please?

Please provide a link to the thread that holds the record for most messages.

Please provide a link to the very first message posted on the Frisco website?

Joe, I can't find a way within the Admin structure to answer those questions.

    Joe,
I don't have hard data to answer your questions but perhaps I can provide some history and best-guesses:

My best guess is that it's Jim James' "Zalma Branch" thread. I was just looking at some of the posts over the weekend and only made it through the first 22 of 42 "pages:"

    http://www.frisco.org/shipit/index.php?threads/new-direction-for-zalma-branch-photos.4805/

As I can best recall, the first "Frisco Website" appeared sometime around 1994-95 and had no messaging function; I stumbled across the website when my employer at the time, Datastorm Technologies (did anyone out there ever use "ProComm Plus" for file transfers?) was toying around with the world-wide web for the first time and was encouraging us to search and explore. I mainly remember the posting of Doug Hughes' old FMIG article on the Frisco's 2-6-0s.

At that time, there was an electronic mailing list that we used for communication with each other. I'm not sure when the messaging/forum features were added to the website; Mike Corley is probably our best historian since I believe he set up the original site.

    Best Regards,

    Thank you Chris!
Jim's layout is one of a kind, a truly great layout. I'm guessing Mike posted the first message, just curious what he said.
