I would like to know if you guys knew of any bits left from water towers around the area. I would like to go and take a look. I feel like there might be a foundation or something by Valley Park, but haven't seen anything myself. Frisco152251
Thomas, Take a look in the forum on Timetables and look at the Eastern Division Employee Timetables. http://www.frisco.org/shipit/index.php?forums/timetables.78/ If water is noted as available at a location, chances are there was a water tower there.
There were two at Dixon - one for the high-sulfur-content water and the other for treated. Footings for the treated-water tank remained for years and are probably still there. I was sitting on one when taking this photo.
The following link has a picture of the depot at Lebanon with the water tower behind the depot: https://thelibrary.org/lochist/frisco/depots/images/photos/p01180.jpg
Ah, maybe this explains why there were two wooden tanks at Chaffee, plus the metal one on top of the bluff. Note the two wooden tanks to the right and just "below" the roundhouse in the aerial photo that Don Wirth posted. http://www.frisco.org/shipit/index....o-yard-early-20th-century-map.1046/#post-5901 Best Regards,
