Today I visited my LHS and was told by the TRAIN GUY that TESTORS has answered our call to make the railroad colors like their predecessors did. Does anyone else have any knowledge of this to be true or false? If it is true, hopefully they will make some FRISCO Colors!!!!|-||-||-||-||-||-|
in answering my own question, it is in the latest model railroader magazine that testors has produced "some" railroad colors, but mostly for scenery, rail tie brown, aged concrete and a few others. Hopefully they will keep going like the "TRAIN GUY" said and produce others like he said....."slowly" they'll come out with more!
Testors already makes a chevy engine block red color. All they would have to do is relabel it Frisco Diesel Orange.
Was down at my LHS today and yes Testors is making RR colors. Not very many, looks to me to be the weathering colors, maybe they are just getting started, and we will see more to come.
Doesn't make any sense. Testors discontinues Polly Scale to just make RR colors out of Model Masters? Testors took all the Polly Scale colors off their web-site. Gone forever I guess. Shame.
I really didn't have time to study it very much it does seem to be Acrylic based though. No idea what they are doing.
They sell Chevy Engine Red in the Model Master Acryl line as well as the Model Master enamel line. I just picked up a couple bottles last night.
On a related note, Microscale 87-115, HO Frisco Diesels Cabs & Hoods is backordered at Microscale right now. I also noticed the price is up to $8.00 per set. However, I was able to find a few of these sets on ebay and hobby shops online. Just thought I'd pass it along...
