Hello all. Manny introduced us. I'm researching, planning and collecting for my M&NA RR circa 1905-1910 (HO) layout which is still in my dreams until I finish my garage (19'x17'). I recently made the connection that the M&NA shared track with the Frisco out of Seligman so I guess we're kind of kissin' cousins. We shared track, we probably shared cars so I belong here.
I'm looking forward to learning from you all. I'll just lurk for awhile and ask newbie questions for a bit, but I hope I can contribute some as well, as least as far as the M&NA. (May Never Arrive)

The "Hot Springs" deal throws me a bit?

Welcome aboard! I'm also a M&NA modeler, about the same era, I push it up to about 1925. I model Frisco rolling stock of course but haven't tryed any Frisco steam from this era.

I'm interested in the M&NA RR. I live in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Best water on the planet.

    Hi Hap, welcome aboard!

I too, like the Missouri & North Arkansas.

I think you mean to say EUREKA Springs and not Hot Springs? The M&NA never went to Hot Springs... but it did indeed go to Eureka Springs.

The M&NA was a fascinating railroad!

Craig: Do you model in HO? What part of the M&NA?
Andre: I meant HOT Springs, that's where I live. I'm well familiar with Eureka Springs. It's several hours drive from where I am. I'm planning a trip up there in the Fall for pictures and maybe treat myself to dinner on their tourist train. It's all that's left of the M&NA and its tracks, just a few miles now.

Understood now. The subject title didn't make it clear.

Enjoy your trip to North Arkansas territory!

    Hello again Hap.
I do model in HO but at this time I don't have the room for a layout, I'm currently just building equipment. I just started on a model of M&NA caboose 304, I'm using the MDC blind end old timer as a starting point. Depending on room I'll be modeling the road between Seligman and Eureka,

You may find this helpful then. Not sure where I got it, probably Jim Wakefield's collection. The St Louis & North Arkansas B Caboose was built in 1902. When the M&NA reorganized (again), it was renumbered as Caboose 301 and showed as one of five on their roster in 1908. My notes also say "the ends were removed," but I don't recall more. Hope it helps.
