The Puzzler is pleased to see that he stumped the group. * The painting in question hung on the bulkhead of the Frisco's Grumman Gulfstream I. The Frisco bought this aircraft in January 1970 to replace its DC-3. * The DC-3 was always called Churchill's airplane. It appears that prior to it's puchase by the Frisco, the DC-3 was used regularly by Sir Winston Churchill.
I don't know who these SLSF gentlemen are, but I'm sure they are more comfortable in their SLSF Gulfstream 1 (G1) than they would have been in their old DC-3. During my working career, I was fortunate enough to fly around North America frequently on my company's G2 and G4 (both pure jet powered as opposed to the G1, which was a turboprop), as well as a few other types of corporate aircraft. Nice! Also very efficient when used properly. The only way to go (except for automobile executives today!). Ken
