Bill Jackson, Male, 72, from Springfield
Yes, travel, dosen't seem very important after you have moved with the railroad 9 times. I really liked it, but am glad it's over. Jul 1, 2019

My grandfather's father followed the railroad construction out of St Louis, hauling supplies, and cutting grade with a team of mules, settleing in Monett, Mo. Sometime in the 20's my Grandfather and his two brothers hired on the Frisco, he was a Boilermaker, the other brothers were Brakemen. One fell down between two cars and died from injuries. The other brother fell into the pit and broke his back. Grandfather retiered in 1967. In 1970, grandfather took me to the main office and got me hired on the Tie Gang, for Frisco which began a 40 year career with the railroad. The railroad is a good career, with good benefits for anyone who chooses to follow the bumps.Interact
