My mother met my father at the Houston House, she worked as a waitress and my father was a engineer on the Frisco who would stay in the boarding rooms upstairs while laying over waiting for his return run to St. Louis
That's ironic, My dad met my mom there when he was sent to Ft. Wood for basic training. He was 21 and she was only 14! He had to ask my grandfather for special permission to get married to her. That was in 1952, I came along 4 years later in 1956. My grandmother was Annie Paul who used to work with Helen Houston making biscuits for breakfast.
