This is a SLSF Photo, which has appeared in advertisements and various publications. The photo's cited location has varied with each publication. The earliest-dated publication in which I have seen this photo appear is Railroading the Modern Way by S. Kip Farrington, Jr. , Coward-MCCann, Inc, New York, NY, 1951. The caption indicates that this is 1-32 between Kurn and Lebanon. I am inclined to accept that as the photos location.

On this paint scheme where there is no road name or number on the side of the B unit, where is the road number?

It was taken from the Highway 66 overpass at E. Eureka having just passed Times Beach.

I could agree on the old hwy 66 just east of eureka, mo as the track on the right would be the passing track unless it is still double track to Pacific, Mo. I must have checked that book out of the public library a dozen times. I too remember the book description as the location stated between Kurn and Lebanon, Mo
