All I did this week was mulch up the leaves in the yard. Sheesh.

TOM - That S4 IMHO is almost your best model ... right up there with the
    RS a while back!

    Thanks Sherrel and Steve!

  7. Sunday Workshop update. LOL I had a little time this weekend. My wife was working and the weather was terrible so Netflix watched the kids for me. HAHA

I will take some better shots but first C630 is pretty well done. This gives you the idea at least.

  8. Also took a few outdoor shots of old stuff for fun. Dodged raindrops in the process but the gloomy sky was nice for the snow diorama to come out of hiding. Scout and I picked the cobwebs off it and took some pics.

Superb! Love that L&N C630. A big power horse that makes good noise.

  10. Thanks Ken. Those are some heavy models too, I assume they will really pull hard.

Many years ago (~1978 or so!) when son Kurt was first getting interested in model railroading, I bought him a Tyco ATSF C-430, because he liked the Santa Fe, and because I thought the C-430 was cool looking - rugged and powerful, the "Alco look". The more I learned about the Alco Century Series, however, the more I understood how inaccurate this Tyco C-430 model was vs the real thing. But, like you say about the L&N C-630 model, it would pull everything we had, and we had a lot of freight cars.

    The diorama photos are awesome!

  13. Thanks glad you enjoyed the pictures.

Funny Ken, as a kid I thought those looked so neat too. Later finding out how inaccurate they really were too. Another forum has a member that has spent several years superdetailing one into a corrected version. It’s prettty neat. Lots of work for no real reason. He builds super detailed models from Tyco stock to see if he can.

    thanks Steve

Great stuff Steve! Glad to see all the comments.
I got a bit more done to the S2 tonight, thought I would take it out to the MRR and do some switching with it. I was surprised at how much that little critter pulled, I think it will be a great trimmer engine, good for pulling the bowl track cuts (17-20 cars) up out of the bowl, thru the snake lead, and then shove the cuts together to make a train. It usually takes 3 bowl tracks to make an outbound train, unless there is a substantial pick-up then we try to build accordingly, likewise if there is a big set-out, the train might leave with 4 bowl tracks or 76-80 cars.
Anyways part of the trimmer job is pull and spotting the RIP's, here it is doing just that.

  16. Funny in a bizarro world way, only my dad that lives400’ away will be here. We did not even buy a turkey and everyone I know is the same way. I’m ready for what ever 2021 has. Gotta be better.

I managed to spend a couple hours on the 4030 today. I have two 4000s in process. 4030 and 4010. I've been focusing on smaller power, but don't get as much done as I would like. Also have 3 1040-1059 roughed out to work on later. Need to build a tender for the 3695 and do another 1522. Don't think I'll live long enough. Meanwhile the layout gathers dust. Don, those look great!

I had to go out of town for work, so not much since the layout update last weekend. I did take a few more photos of Steve's detail and weathering on the VO. This one had a number of likes on Facebook, so thought I would share here.....

Now, back to the garage for some track work and watching the NER-x broadcast on YouTube.....

    Take Care All,

    -Bob T.

    Very impressive Don,

Question. What is that large pipe sticking up beside the stack?
