Offered for sale is an SL-SF Frisco Class 182-7 4-4-0 American Hallmark Brass HO unpainted HO scale. Hallmark imported this can motor Whyte Class American from Dong Jin of Korea. The Pittsburgh Locomotive Company (later to become part of ALCO) originally built the class for the St Louis, Memphis & Southeastern, a Missouri-Arkansas railroad. The Stephenson Valve Geared Equipped locomotives rested on four 69 inch drivers and tipped the scales at 215,000 pounds. The 180 PSI of steam powered the pair of 18 inch bore by 26 inch stroke cylinders. These American Types could produce a tractive effort of 18,679 pounds. The class was modernized during the later 1920s. The locomotives eventual found their way onto commuter service in Springfield to St. Louis region. Records show that they were dependable as well as economical. Despite being an early design, these engines worked the Frisco to the twilight of steam. The model is housed in its original box with foam insert as well as a decals, printed history, and spare parts. The locomotive runs, but not very well. Considerable work would be required to bring this engine up to today's operating standards. For those up to the challenge, the price is $150 plus Priority Mail postage. Payment can be made by check, money order, or PayPal friends and family. Thank you for your interest.

I've wanted one of these for a while now. I've got too much going on in life right now though. Maybe in another month or two if no one else picks it up.

Don, you can list yours if you want. I think my 4-4-0 is destined to be a mantle piece.

Shucks, RICH -- I thought you were going to ask DON to "overhaul" it in order to have a pair?

I think Don has let it be known how he feels about working on another one of these.

I'd sooner stick rusty needles in my eyes.

  12. Funny Don. That was my thought after building the Moloco Frisco transfer caboose. It looks great but never again.

I need to sell mine too. I had planned to simulate a tourist railroad on the old Dixon Hill grade and use my 186 to pull the tourists. Two problems: 1. The layout got trashed. 2. The 180's couldn't pull Dixon nor Hancock Hills. Mine is pretty with Scalecoat and Champ decals. Don, did your sell on E-Bay? Doug 186.JPG
