If you've been agonizing over how to send your upcoming stimulus check, your worries are over, as Micro-Mark is offering an O-Gauge model of the Frisco 4500, which can be yours for a song (at least if you can sing to the tune of $1459.95). Here's the link:

We are going to have to get one of those for our granddaughter's Polar Express Christmas layout! After all, we should have a backup engine, right?

Took the short way out. Painted a Santa Fe 4-8-4 blue and white for $1500. Big of them.

Nah, no way! Double heading with a Polar Express Lionel Berkshire! I wish I would have had this engine way back when I had a Lionel layout. Good looking Lionel 2-8-4, runs great, heavy - will pull anything, has the smoke generator, headlight, etc. I get the pleasure of doing the lube job each Christmas on it - reminds me of my harping to my dad years ago to get finished as he lubed our 2-6-2 Lionel #675 (decorated as a Lionel PRR 4-6-2 K-4).
FYI, the Polar Express equipment is pretty nice; that's why it is so expensive. This year, we added a baggage car, next year I'm thinking of the combine. There also is a Polar express box car. The girls love it. It is also required we watch the Polar Express Blue-Ray each Christmas.

Yeah, and they painted a USRA Light Mountain for the 1501. THAT *really* disappointed me, especially after I harped on them to produce a 1500-class.

At least the MoPac version of the Mountain is accurate, and the 6 Sunshine Special cars they produced to go with it are gorgeous. However, the $3000 combined for the set is above my pay grade, stimulus check or not.
