Was that Alco custom-painted, or done by Atlas? Either way, it's awesome! I have an RS1 in Frisco colors, and the Kato drive under the shell is the smoothest-running diesel I have.
Bob, The Alco RS 1 is factory paint, weathered with air brush and chalked and has a Tsunami sound decoder. Yes, a very smooth runner!
Doug, Yes I have op sessions. Am part of a round robin group of layouts that operate. I have an A & B session with 12 trains in each session. A session lasts about 3 hours. Stop in, you are most welcome! John
John's use of photo backdrops on his layout is among the very best I have ever seen. He hides the shallow depth of the layout very effectively, and the backdrops complete the scene very nicely. His layout should be on anyone's must-see list.
I have 7. Dispatcher Yard Master Assist. Yard/Hostler 4 Road crews Dispatcher is located in another room . All communications are done with 2 way radios . Will attach a photo showing a track shematic board using magnets for train location.
1. Dispatcher Train Order Binder 2. Sample of train order. Each road crew has the same order in pocket size. 4. Dispatcher Panel shows schematic of layout. 3. Eg; Each train no. is placed on a green and white magnet with the same no. #76 Dispatcher gave #76 green magnet to a given point whereas the white magnet was its point of origin. When road crew has completed its work, he request his next assignment and the process is repeated. White magnet is placed at the last green magnet location and the green is placed at the next destination point.
I'm gonna mark up over there. Looks like John should be paying into RR Retirement for employees it looks so real.
