There are a couple of additional items I would like to offer to the frisco.org group. These are specialty items that will be useful modeling unique Frisco units that certainly appealed to me, and I hope appeal to those in the group who would like to have some interesting but uncommon units on their roster. These are both undecorated, so you also will need to do them up in the black & yellow.
(SOLD) First, Stewart HO model #8200, an EMD F3A Phase III unit. This represents one of the first two F3A's the Frisco received, SLSF 5000 and SLSF 5001. All the remaining F3A's on the roster were different. These first two (which arrived on the road roughly six months before the remaining units started to show up) are "chicken wire" F3's, Phase III (Phase II units had high fans and Phase III units had low fans). Instead of the louvered vents along the body side between the portholes, these two had square openings covered by a large chicken wire grill extending the length of the body between the two side portholes. Thus, the upper yellow stripe on the side did not appear between the portholes, i.e., there was no stripe underneath the chicken wire. Otherwise, these F3A's were essentially identical to the remaining F3A's, SLSF 5002-5017. Take a look at the pics of 5000 and 5001 in Dr Marre's Frisco diesel book to confirm what I am saying (p81).
This is the only HO F-unit model that will easily allow you to model SLSF 5000 and 5001, as the full array of chickenwire grills are molded into the body. It has other features as well - excellent F3 body shell, smooth Kato drive, excellent Blomberg trucks with added details, horns, window glass plastic. You will need to supply Kadee couplers. The model does have d/b, which the SLSF F3's did not have, but on the F3, these were roof-top grills, not fans, and can be easily removed
Price - $37.00, shipping is $8.00 via USPS Priority Mail, payment by PayPal friends & family to meteor910@mindspring.com.
    See the pics - thanks.

Second, Stewart HO model 9310, an EMD F9A, with double headlights. This unit is ideal to model SLSF 5005 and/or SLSF 5007, the two F3A's that were rebuilt by EMD into F9A's. It has the additional louver vent ahead of the first side porthole, which only F9A's had, and the correct Farr-Air upper grill on the top of the sides of the body (the F3A's had chicken wire up there). It also, correctly, has d/b with the large sized d/b fan. As noted above, it also has two nose headlights, which 5005 and 5007 did have. It also has the other features as well - excellent F9 body shell, smooth Kato drive, excellent Blomberg trucks with added details, horns, window glass plastic. You will need to supply Kadee couplers.
As above, price - $37.00, shipping is $8.00 via USPS Priority Mail, payment by PayPal friends & family to meteor910@mindspring.com.
See the pics - thanks. (Sold)

ps - In case anyone would want both, shipping would be $11.65.

    Gary -
Yes it is! For another $3, $40 total, I'll throw in a Kadee #450 pack which I have just found (I have two) - the Stewart F-unit coupler conversion set, which gives you prototypical 3-ft spacing between units. This is a $5.20 value (what it cost me).
For the life of me, I do not understand why the F-unit fans in frisco.org have not snapped this up (and the F9A). They each make one of two unique Frisco F-units. They would provide a bit of variety among all the other identical F3A's and F7A's.
    Let me know.

My wife just said to me "don't buy anything." Of course, that doesn't apply to her. So I'll have to scrape up the money somewhere...

Can anyone opine as to the last days of F unit types active on the Frisco? A's, B's, 9/7/3's which ever variation?

Tom - Various F7A's, F7B's, the two F9A's, F9B's and FP7's. I don't know what the final few F's running were, but they would have come from this group. Probably the F9B's - they used them in between GP35's and now and then, in between SD45's as I recall.

I'm very familiar with the problem!
You need to make a decision - others have an interest in the F3A-III, but you were the first. Let me know ASAP.
    Thanks.

Good, go for it. This makes a unique Frisco diesel locomotive, F3A-lll, one of only two they had, SLSF 5000 & 5001, (out of 18 total F3A's).
Yes, price is $37.00 for the F3A-lll, plus $3.00 for the Kadee #450 close couple set, plus $8.00 discounted Priority Mail freight. That's $48.00 total.
Send to PayPal, friends & family, to meteor910@mindspring.com

    Thanks. Much appreciated.

OK. This Stewart F9A is the last undec Stewart F-unit I have to offer. It is on eBay right now for $32.50 plus $9.00 discounted shipping cost (bit under 2 lbs).
Anyone of you who wants to consider this fine chance to model SLSF 5005 or SLSF 5007, please let me know now so I can kill the eBay listing before somebody bids. It has a watch following already. Thanks! Last chance. (SOLD)
