Over the years I have ended up with a bunch of these HO MDC 50' plug door kits. I figured since they weren't SLSF appropriate, I would just Make them QA&P (rule#1 again)
I put coupler cut bars and cushion devices where appropriate. Painted and decaled also a light weathering.
The Beige cars are for beer loading at the Hootch Brewery (getting to where they are calling for a couple switches a day) 3 cars:)
The Yellow cars are cushion General Service cars. 4 cars
The boxcar Red ones are for cotton bale loading only as they are equipped with wood lined floors and walls. 10 cars:)
I think this will complete the modern fleet for QA&P 50 plug door cars.

We have an MK, "rent-a-wreck" F45 till some more power is acquired :D

Tom - Wow! You are the best combination quantity/speed/quality model railroader I have ever experienced!

Keep it up! Let's see that U30b soon!

    Thanks Bob
I always thought it was a truck inspection stencil, always learning something here.

Got another QA&P 50' boxcar converted. This one started out as BNSF used a eraser to remove the undesired lettering, then fixed it up with some QA&P decals. The Walthers model came with 33" wheels but stenciled for 36" 1WSTL WHLS. So I puts 36" wheels under it, remove the KD truck shims and the coupler height is right on the money. Car is stenciled for "cotton bale loading only" as car is wood lined for that service.
I should be trying to use the "Transcontinental Cut Off" slogan on my QA&P rolling stock.

    Started like this:

    Now looks like this:

That instructional lettering is an especially nice touch, Tom. Nice and crisp, too. Keep 'em coming,
